Read for Hope advocates the spread of hope and care for the environment through stories in disaster prone coastal communities in the Philippines.
For the past two years we have been organizing outreach projects for the Typhoon Haiyan affected communities in the provinces of Samar and Leyte.
* May 14-16, 2014: In Cabuynan Elementary School, Tanauan Leyte the group donated a mobile library and organized storytelling activities with the children designed for trauma release activities.
* May 21-24, 2015: In Cabuynan Elementary School, Tanauan Leyte the group reconstructed a permanent library room for the school and gave computer literacy training for the teachers. Then the group travelled to Guiuan National High School to donate bookshelves and give a leadership seminar for their select student leaders.
